Getting links

How many links can I get?

Each partner-site article is intended for a partner's website and includes one agreed link to your page. On the free plan you start one article per placement credit: earn credits by publishing partners' articles, or buy one when you need it. Starter lets you start one article a month; Growth lets you start four. Agency plans share ten or twenty-five across clients. An allowance or credit is used when you submit an article proposal, even before it is published. Hosting someone else's article on your site never uses your allowance.

Is there a fee for each link?

There is a price per article you start, not per link. A placement credit is CAD $29, or CAD $39 with assisted writing, and you earn credits free by publishing partners' articles. Monthly plans bring the price down: Growth works out to about CAD $12.49 per article started, and agency plans cost less per article. Assisted writing on its own is CAD $20 per article.

How do I find websites to exchange links with?

Open Opportunities in your dashboard. Each one shows the niche, city, province and topics, and the website address stays private until the host accepts your proposed topic. Opportunities near you and on shared topics score higher and are listed first.

What can I do to get more links?

Choose a larger plan, add every website you own, since each one can host articles and be featured on partner sites, and keep your profile current so more partners match with you. Publishing good articles for others also builds the relationships that lead to repeat exchanges.

How exchanges work

Is this a link exchange?

Yes. Members publish relevant articles on each other's websites, each with one link to an agreed page. Google's spam policies treat link exchanges made mainly for ranking as a violation, so we do not promise rankings, and every member decides what appears on their own site.

Are these links only link swaps? Aren't reciprocal links bad?

Not only swaps. Each partner-site article is its own agreement: the host publishes a relevant article with one link to the page the other business chose. You decide who to work with. You can host each other, spread exchanges across several partners, or run a loop of three businesses, and the platform neither requires nor blocks reciprocal pairs. Keep volumes reasonable and relevant to your customers, and remember that we do not promise ranking effects.

What is an example of a link I might get?

An Edmonton plumber publishes a guide to planning a bathroom renovation that links once to a local renovation contractor's service page. A Calgary accounting firm and a Calgary law firm each host an article for the other. A real estate office, a mortgage broker and a home inspector in Halifax each feature the next in a loop of three.

Do I have to publish?

A business may participate as a host and as a seeker; each proposal still needs host approval.

Can I write my own article?

Yes. Assisted writing is optional.

Who has the final say?

The host can edit or request revisions before publishing.

How long is a published article monitored?

For 12 months after the publication URL is accepted.

Quality and rankings

What makes a good listing?

Be specific and accurate. Use the right category, your real city, province and postal code, and a handful of topics you can write about well rather than a long list. Give each opportunity a clear title that says what kind of article fits, and set which categories may link to and from you. Add a story and voice to your profile so articles sound like you, and keep your preferred service page up to date. A complete directory profile with services, hours and photos helps customers too.

Why don't I see Domain Authority?

Domain Authority is a third-party score, not something Google measures, and a local business site usually has a modest one anyway. We match on location, category and topics instead, because a relevant local business linking to another matters most for these exchanges. We do not claim measured SEO authority for any site.

Does a partner-site article guarantee rankings?

No. Search performance depends on many factors, and we do not promise results.
